Chief Executive Officer
Mr. Muzzo is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Ozz Electric, OZZ Clean Energy’s largest shareholder, and a strategically active board member. Established in 1991, OZZ Electric is a full service Electrical and Data Com company with over 900 electricians servicing the ICI and Multi‐Residential markets in Ontario, Alberta and Newfoundland. He also co‐founded OZZ Comfort Solutions and Trilliant Inc. Trilliant provides intelligent network solutions and software to utilities around the world for advanced metering, demand response, and smart grid management.
Marco has served as the President of OZZ Clean Energy from July 2010. During this time, OZZ Solar built the largest portfolio of Feed‐in‐Tariff contracts in Ontario. Prior to joining OZZ, Marco was Vice‐President of Finance at Trilliant Inc., a global provider of network solutions for the clean tech and smart grid marketplaces, including advanced metering infrastructure and demand response. Trilliant was a high growth start up when Marco joined the company and he played a key senior role in five acquisitions, several financing transactions and the restructuring of Trilliant's asset base leading to a private equity transaction.
Gerry De Luca
Executive Vice President, Sales
Gerry was formerly an Associate Director in Bell Canada's Enterprise division managing sales to the Utility and Energy vertical. In this capacity he worked on various elements of the Ontario Smart Metering initiative, advanced demand response solutions as well as all of the traditional network solutions that Bell provides the utility and energy markets. Within this role, Gerry has also worked closely with the Ministry of Energy, the Ontario Energy Board and the Ontario Power Authority to provide thought leadership around the various government policies and objectives that have become legislation in Ontario. Gerry is a founding partner of OZZ Solar.
Energy Storage & MicroGrid Specialist
Eric has overseen the deployment of over 100MW of solar projects on thousands of sites throughout the United States, Canada and Africa during his tenure at Main Street Power and AES Corporation. Additionally, working with partners such as Tesla, Panasonic, Samsung, BYD, SAFT, and LG Chem, he has deployed Li-Ion based storage systems throughout the US, both in concert with PV and as stand-alone systems. Eric has served as President, COO, and CTO of various public and private companies, and holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Colorado at Boulder and is a certified NABCEP Solar PV Professional™.
MicroGrid Project Management
Benjer brings over 15 years of experience in the commercial construction and Solar PV industry and most recently participated in and led the development and project management of over 60MW of commercial, municipal and utility solar projects across the US during his time at Main Street Power and AES Distributed Energy. He developed an EPC agreement that has been negotiated and signed on over 20MW of projects in CA, HI, MA and NY. Benjer holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business from the Daniel’s College of Business at the University of Denver, an MBA from the University of Colorado Denver, and has spoken at a number of national solar PV conferences.
Director of Legal Affairs
Patti Phelan is in‐house counsel with the OZZ group of companies in Ontario, Canada. Patti has overseen legal aspects of approximately 50MW of rooftop solar installations. Prior to joining OZZ, she was in‐house legal counsel to three other early stage start‐up businesses, including WIND Mobile, the largest of the first discount cell phone service providers in Canada. Patti spent the first 10 years of her career in private practice in Toronto specializing in real estate law (most recently with Smith Lyons, now Gowlings LPP). Patti is an active member of the Association of Corporate Counsel (ACC, an international organization for in‐house lawyers with 30,000 members).
Chris has 5 years of solar PV delivery experience including coordination of all pre‐project design professionals as well as daily construction details and issues. Chris has directly overseen over 35 rooftop PV installations with a total capacity of 20 MW. In addition to coordinating design and construction, Chris has been OZZ’s front line resource with respect to building site representatives, local government, distribution utilities, and the Provincial FIT Program authorities (Ontario Power Authority and the IESO). Laura Li Preti
Contracts and Regulatory Liaison
Laura is responsible for negotiating and advising the company on power purchase agreements, asset purchase/EPC agreements, and leasing, installation, and maintenance agreements for renewable energy projects. As OCE continues to expand into new jurisdictions, Laura ensures compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and public policy initiatives. Laura earned a B.A. from York University, Glendon College in 2006, a Master's in International Law from Unical, Italy in 2008, a Civil Law Degree (LL.L) and Juris Doctor Degree (J.D), cum laude, from the University of Ottawa.
